Thank you to Bruce Reynolds of treasured Moments Videography for putting together this trailer of our wedding video.
Many of my brides and vendors ask me about my wedding day and how it was and who coordinated the wedding and where are my pictures and my videos. I usually will tell them who planned the wedding and that it was a very special day in our lives. So after many years of being asked, here is our story.
On July 8, 2006, Marcus and I were married at the First Baptist Windermere Church, to the sound of thunder and lightning in the church. But we managed to dodge every rain cloud there was when we went inside, when we left the church and when we entered the reception and when we left. As a matter of fact after we left the church, there was a rainbow over the church. I had a surprise dove release for Marcus, totally unexpected!
Our reception was at the the Dolphin Hotel. Where fairytale dreams do come true, from the Disney Music, welcoming the guests to the ballerinas dancing to Cinderella’s song, ” A Dream is a Wish” to all the special things, dancing with my son, dancing with my daughter, celebrating my dad’s birthday as we were blessed that year to have him when he suffered an unexpected stroke 3 months before the wedding, to the military tributes. Marcus and I shared some special songs to dance to and my dance friends( about half the guest list) took over the dance floor to dance the cha cha slide at one point…to the Latin beats of Merengue and Salsa.
The night ended with a walk to the boardwalk to view the Disney Fireworks on the boardwalk as tourists joined our guests’ excitement to see a wedding party out on the boardwalk watching the fireworks. Marcus and I quietly slipped away for the night….and the rest is history………..
A big thank you to Daisy Solomon who executed my wedding plans on the day of and also assisted me during the time that I took in planning the wedding( 6 months), for 180 people. Josephine Germer of Morning Glory Florist who took on the task of decorating the venues. Cendy Knight who provided our transportation the entire day and the next day to the airport with a pick up 2.5 weeks later from the honeymoon. Joan Deslauriers, who was the catering manager at the time for the Dolphin, for an amazing menu and reception package. Robert Mc Donald of New Beginnings and Events who did the MC and DJ and lighting that night at the reception. Pastor Chuck, of First Baptist Windermere for the amazing service at our wedding. The Fellowship Strings for the ceremony and cocktail music. To Ana and Jay Dasilva for having my hair and make up done, inviting us to their beautiful home to get dressed for the wedding, to Jay for use of his banquet room at the Dolphin. To Skip Stowers that took our wedding photographs, he is like family as he has been photographing our dance shows for 13 plus years, and to Don our videographer of Diacom Productions. The ladies and gentleman that all sang at our wedding ceremony as well and added an emotion to the wedding ceremony like no CD would have. To the beautiful Castle Cake made of white Chocolate and Amaretto and Almond flavor by Frosting on the Cake.
The bridal party consisted of 27. Did you think I planned it? Nope, as we did not have any idea we just selected the friends that we wanted supporting us on our day and after the fact when we counted that is what we came up with. Amazing huh? From the guests to our bridal party, ushers and hostesses, all near and dear to our hearts. As well as the family and friends that traveled to be at our wedding.
We wish all our couples much success in their marriage and hope that Marcus and I can continue to be of example to all that true love does exist and that fairytale dreams can come true, and a fairytale is what you make it out to be.
Happy 5th anniversary to Marcus, my best friend…..
