Mayor Buddy Dyer has declared that Saturday, September 13, 2014, is The Gift of Life Day and every resident of Orlando and surrounding cities should attend this event in support of premature babies.

Message from Mayor Buddy Dyer:

On September 13, 2014 an exciting fundraiser will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel. Inspired by Rosie Moore’s own story of the struggles families face who have premature babies, this event seeks to raise funds for equipment for supporting Florida Hospital for Children, The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Proceeds will also go towards the making of the movie, A Story of Faith, to be filmed in part in the hospital which will provide additional resources for families whose children are patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Rosie’s son Kaleb was born at 1lb 10 oz and 27 weeks at Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando. Rosie has written a book called A Story of Faith which the movie will be based upon.

The event is called The Gift of Life and will involve a sit down dinner and both a silent and live auction component. Being in Love and Having A Good Time at Your Wedding

Are you a fan of the movie, Dirty Dancing, featuring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey? Well, the terrific tune of the day is a popular song from the movie; “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” was originally sung by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes.

This song describes the feeling of being in love and having a good time. Due to the joyful feeling this song brings, it is a great last dance song choice. Guests can be invited to the dance floor to enjoy this last lively song as well.

For a more upbeat, modern atmosphere, here is another version of the song. It is called “The Time (Dirty Bit)” by the Black Eyed Peas.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!!

Greetings from 27 Miracles. Today is May 5th which marks the holiday of Cinco de Mayo. Do you celebrate this special day? Well, Cinco de Mayo is more than a day to gather with friends and party. Moreover, May 5th is the day “Mexicans celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla” (A&E Television Networks, LLC). This battle, surrounding the claim of Puebla de Los Angeles, was fought against French troops. The Mexicans gained their victory on May 5, 1862 which is why this holiday is called Cinco de Mayo.

If you are someone that enjoys this holiday, how would you like to turn your wedding into a Cinco de Mayo themed wedding? Bright colors, Mexican food, a cactus wedding cake, and a mariachi band are some ideas to consider for such a wedding. Have you missed our blogs? Well, 27 Miracles has a great blog for you today. This past week has been filled with busy schedules surrounding three weddings, rehearsal dinner and to end the week a Baby Expo! A fun fact is that two of our three brides are teachers. Two weddings with Two teachers same day. How awesome is that?

It’s just days before the wedding, and you start to worry because you see a pimple on your face that wasn’t there before. Leave your worries behind while feeling refreshed and beautiful after applying a face mask.

Face masks can unclog your pores and remove dead skin cells. For oily skin, a clay mask will come in handy. It removes dirt and grease, leaving you with a nicely cleansed face. A cream mask helps moisturize your face. Leave it on overnight, and in the morning, the result will consist of beautiful soft skin. This is a great tool to use for the night before the wedding.

First Touch On Your Wedding day

It’s become tradition for the bride to avoid seeing the groom before the wedding ceremony. This tradition actually began due to arranged marriages. The groom was not allowed to see the bride for fear that the groom would change his mind and no longer want to get married. Times have changed, but this tradition is still practiced worldwide.

On the other hand, weddings no longer require this tradition. A popular option for couples has been the “first look” in which the bride and groom schedule time before the ceremony to see each other. If you want to incorporate the tradition while staying in contact with your fiance on your wedding day, a good tip is to schedule a “first touch” instead of a “first look.”

With a first touch, you and your fiance will be able to hold each other’s hand and communicate without seeing each other. This moment must be planned well. The perfect area of your venue needs to be selected to avoid the chance that you may get a glimpse of your fiance.
