The “Make” and YOUR Diamond Engagement Ring: What YOU Need To Know BEFORE Purchase!

Hi AAWPs: What is the biggest investment you’re going to make when it comes to your wedding? And I mean investment. or the one item that you’re going to purchase that may actually gain in value over the years and become a life-long treasure, keepsake, or even heirloom? That item is your diamond engagement ring.

Most American women receive diamonds when they become engaged, so it’s critical that you learn all you can about diamonds before you purchase one. We’re always amazed by brides-to-be who say: “I’m looking for a great diamond, with minimal inclusions (in other words, flaws) and great color.” And our retort is: “What about the “make”?” Let us explain. A diamond may be flawless with the greatest color possible, but if the make is bad, it will appear dull and lifeless, like a piece of paste. That’s why “make” is the most important factor to consider when purchasing the most beautiful diamond you can afford. The make is the cut, proportioning and finish of a diamond. and if the make is poor, you’ll make a poor purchase.

Tiffany’s in its How to Buy a Diamond brochure says, “A word of caution: Few diamonds are properly cut. The vast majority are spread.” This means that the stone has been cut to appear bigger, with a big downside. As Tiffany’s states, “Beauty and brilliance are sacrificed for size and the customer is unknowingly paying for this extra padding. ” In other words, folks, you’re being ripped off So don’t forget to ask your jeweler that all important question. How’s the “make”? Then let him/her explain whether the stone’s been cut for brilliance and beauty. or whether it’s spread? As an educated consumer, it’s up to you to know the difference!

You may be asking yourself what does December 27 and 27 Miracles have in common?

Rosie Moore, Master Wedding Planner for 27 Miracles gets asked all the time by everyone she meets, where did the name 27 Miracles come from?  Well it is pretty simple, On December 27, 2005, Marcus Moore, Rosie’s Best Friend and Love of her life, said to Rosie, ” There comes a time in a man’s life when he has to make certain decisions in his life.  Today I am making mine, will you marry me?” Literally the Disney fireworks were going off in their backyard in the shapes of hearts; Orchestrated perfectly by the Master Planner Himself (God!!!)  There is a reason that this day was very significant and if you want to know all the details about it, you shall have to read the book ( Can’t give all their secrets away now) Click on the link to learn more…  A Story of Faith By Rosie Moore 

Now that covers the 27 Part, but the Miracles Part, comes from the fact that this day and age it takes a Miracle to find the right someone to be married to, but the bigger Miracle is staying with that special someone through the years.

What Christmas Traditions Do You Have?

Christmas is a time of the year in which most enjoy spending time with their families. Decorations are put up. Christmas cheer is spread. Traditions are made.  

How do you tie in the Christmas season with your fiance? Well, this is also the time of the year to create traditions with your significant other. As your relationship strengthens and you enter marriage, your significant other becomes family, and new traditions start to unfold.  Afraid of where to begin?

Kara from mywedding.com says one way to start the holiday season is to,“take a break from the crowds at the malls and do some of your holiday shopping at local craft shows.”

As a fellow Do-It-Yourself enthusiast, I enjoy making crafts and other homemade goodies for my loved ones.  I also enjoy baking chocolate filled goods such as fudge.  Activities such as making crafts and baking with your fiance can be an enjoyable tradition as well as one that is more personal and intimate.  This gives you and your fiance a chance to spend the holidays together, while creating meaningful traditions; sending out homemade goodies to your other loved ones is a way to incorporate them into this new found tradition.  This lets your loved ones know that you care about them through the work invested into making the goodies.  

With the comfort chocolate provides me during the holidays, I will be enjoying this holiday season with my significant other, baking and decorating whilst taking sips of hot cocoa.  Take this time to enjoy the holiday season focusing on spreading love and cheer.

Thanksgiving is often a time when people reflect and are thankful for all that they have.  Today is the recognized day for thanking God for everything we have, but really we should thank God daily for all that He does for us.
