Family: Married to Marcus Moore for six years. We were engaged on Dec. 27, 2005, the reason for our company name, 27 Miracles. I have a son Christopher, 21; daughter Kayla, 17; and our miracle baby, Kaleb, 3, born at 27 weeks and weighing 1 pound, 10 ounces. We also have two dogs Rusty, 14, and Daisy, 6.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Received Association of Bridal Consultants Master of Bridal Consultants™ designation in 2012.

On the Business: 27 Miracles is a full-service wedding and event coordination business. We meet the client’s needs from wedding consultation to full event coordination. We also plan destination and ethnic weddings; have an online boutique for stationery, favors, shoes, etc.; and work in the community with different charitable organizations.

Getting Started: I have been planning weddings since age 18 when I planned my parents’ 20-year surprise wedding vow renewal. I also planned for friends and other planners for years until a florist friend suggested I open my own company.  Within two weeks, we opened 27 Miracles in 2008.

Ivonne and Andrew Wedding Pics Andy Martin 824

Goals: This year, I want to get more Sandals honeymoons booked. When people wait to have that all-important honeymoon, life gets in the way, and it becomes more difficult to have that once-in-a-lifetime event. We also would like to see more sales on my book, A Story of Faith, as it generates income for Nathaniel’s Hope, a special-needs ministry. And, we hope for more sales on the Angela Nuran Shoes we stock, which generates donations for Brides Against Breast Cancer.

On the ABC: It gives you the education and purpose to ethically, morally, and professionally run a successful business.

Mentors: My mentor first and foremost is God.  Next is my husband who encourages me and gives me the time to do what I love to do. Then, it is Camelu Vargas, MBC™, who encouraged and supported me.  Elise Enloe, MBC™, stretches me to do better, reach for my goals, and never settle.  My best friend in the industry, Diane Jenson, kept me calm throughout the MBC™ process and is an excellent planner who is always there to help.

Inspiration: Simon Bailey and his Brillionaire club inspire me to rise above the negative. I also listen to Joel Osteen ministries. His positive outlook on life helps me see my life and the world in a whole new perspective, empowering me to succeed in business.

Marketing Strategy: Vendor referrals are our best source.

On Staying Fresh: 27 Miracles refreshes the company yearly by looking at what worked the year before, what we have learned, what we can do to improve ourselves, and by refreshing our marketing literature and our own presentation of ourselves.

Ideal Client: My ideal client is the destination bride, the Theme-Park-Corporate-Busy Bride, the ethnic bride and groom looking to bring their culture into the wedding.

Reading Now: Several—Simon Bailey’s Vuja De Moments, Joel Osteen’s It’s Your Time, and my daily devotion book from Sarah Young, Dear Jesus.

Hobbies: In my free time, I dance tap, jazz, salsa, and ballet.

Ivonne and Andrew Wedding Pics Andy Martin 419

Words of Wisdom: I advise other planners to get educated and never stop. Don’t look at other planners as competition; rather, look at each as someone from whom you can learn. A cooperative relationship will help you in the long run as you will focus more of your energy on your clients.

On Giving Back: 27 Miracles is involved in Love Bears, where a group of senior citizens knits bears to donate through our company, 27 Miracles, to sick or hurting children. Last Christmas, we donated almost 80 bears to Florida Hospital in Orlando at the Walt Disney Pavilion for Children.  This is the same neonatal intensive care unit that my own son, Kaleb, lived in for five months after he was born.  We also work with: Brides Against Breast Cancer, Nathaniel’s Hope, and the March of Dimes.

The Traditional Nigerian Engagement of Bukola and Francis

27 Miracles started their day bright and early at 5am making the commute to the beautiful Lake Mary Event Center where at 7am the place would be buzzing with vendors ready to start the festivities for Bukola and Francis!  Bukola and Francis are from out-of-state but they chose Florida to marry as this is home of Bukola’s father.  In Nigeria, the tradition is to have the daughter marry in the village where her father resides.  In this instance Florida.

This will be the king chairs where the bride and groom will sit! Thank you to Pinky from Nikun Events and Orlando DJ and Lighting for the backdrop and lighting. The family brought different gift items that signify many things for instance honey for sweetness in the marriage and salt to be the seasoning of the marriage and the world.  The Nigerian wedding ceremony is everyone in the family coming together to financially and spiritually support the couple.  In lieu of gifts the families supply cash to the couple to help them get started in life.  You will see those pictures later on.

Everything was coming together preparation wise for Bukola.  As she got her head-dress on she took advantage of the quiet morning to take a phone call!

Bukola selected the coral colors for her engagement ceremony as you see in the shoes, fan and purse with traditional gold jewelery to match.

Finally our bride to be is ready to await her grand entrance to the ceremony but while she waited she had some time to pose for some pictures.

Lolly was so supportive to Bukola, her and wedding planner Rosie Moore of 27 Miracles were the ones that planned this beautiful wedding together along with Bukola.  She was a great maid of honor!

Bukola and Frances Engagement 087Bukola and Frances Engagement 067The Ladies are ready for the festivities to start!!! And now it is time for the traditional ceremony to begin.  If you have never been to a Nigerian wedding before you will learn after you read this story all the details involved.

The ceremony begins with the reading of the proposal letter from the groom’s family.  This proposal letter is presented to the mother of the bride who dances around to present it to the family and  her husband. The  ceremony starts with a Nigerian spokeswoman that directs the ceremony.

Once the Bride’s Family reads the acceptance letter, the groom enters
the room escorted by the men in his family to ask for the bride’s hand
in marriage

If a favorable reply is sent to the grooms family, the groom then comes in with his friends.  As the groom enters the room, he drops some money in the room that will help the bride’s family.

The spokeswoman  starts to explain to the  men and the groom what the next step is.

America Loves Ivonne and Andrew……

You might say who is Ivonne and Andrew? And why does America love them?   If you haven’t been following the story of Ivonne and Andrew, here is a brief synopsis of it.  Ivonne was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  She has undergone surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to eliminate the tumors that she has.  She was planning to one day get married in the future to her true love Andrew. Unfortunately this diagnosis changed all their plans to have the wedding of the dreams. Treatments, medical expenses, loss of a job, placed them in a situation that made the planning of a wedding impossible and to also move the wedding up to August 2012 as opposed to next year was even harder.  Their story has touched people all over the US as the outreach of donation offers is coming from places other than Florida and even out of the USA.

Minerva’s Bridal  contacted Rosie Moore of 27 Miracles and asked if there was anything that we could do to help this bride in need.  Rosie went to work contacting her fellow Orlando/Tampa vendors to help.  The response was overwhelming with the offers that she received. At this time the wedding is pretty much planned.  There is a surprise honeymoon destination, however the  fare is what is needed.  27 Miracles is asking for your support if you would like to help, please send an email to 27 Miracles at info@27miraclesbyrosie.com and you can receive details there as to how to give to help this couple.

In The meantime 27 Miracles wants to give an open thank you to the following vendors below.  Now there are many other vendors involved, however those will be revealed after the wedding as they are saved for a wedding day surprise…..

Minerva’s Bridal, Sheraton Hotel Lake Buena Vista, A Chair Affair, Gaylord Palms Hotel, Nannuk Media, Nannuk Invitations, Andy Martin Photography, Key Moments Videography, John Michael Catering, About Face, Miami Pro DJ’s, Pastor Silva and many more that will be revealed soon on the wedding day…….

Follow Ivonne and Andrew’s story as it develops in the next few weeks. on 27 Miracles Blog .

Most recently  Studio Ten.TV had the happy couple Ivonne and Andrew as well as  Rosie Moore on their morning show to hear Ivonne and Andrew’s story.  Click on the link to see the show.

Earth Day Today….and How You can Make Your Wedding Green

Today April 22, 2012 is Earth Day.  It is a day that back in 1970 was declared to help save our planet from the toxins that can ruin our precious Earth. Click on the link here to read more of a full history on it.  http://www.earthday.org/earth-day-history-movement

A lot of Brides may want to know, how can they plan a Green Wedding to help the environment?  Here are some tips from Green Bride Guide http://www.greenbrideguide.com/ to help you:

-Use Plantable Paper Invitations, your guests can place your invitation in the ground and grow flowers in the spring.

-Consider donating your wedding gown after you purchase it or resell it

-Use seasonal flowers for your wedding. Ask your  Florist to buy organic and local vs conventionally grown imported flowers that are toxic to people and the planet.

-Choose soy, palm or beeswax candles

-Use wine corks to hold your place cards, which can also be plantable

-Steer Clear of plastic, disposable favors

-Edible favors hardly ever go to waste( chocolate, candy)

-Instead of favors, make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of each guest

-Personalized seed packets are also great favor ideas

-Ask your caterer to use local and seasonal foods as well as organic foods

-Set up a classy candy buffet as another favor option

-Avoid disposable cameras

-Your wedding planner that is familiar with Green Weddings can help you have a fabulous wedding.

27 Miracles www.27miraclesbyrosie.com is proud to work with caterer John Michael Catering who is eco friendly to our Green Brides www.JohnMichaelEvents.com…..   There are many hotels out there as well that are eco friendly .  Contact 27 Miracles today to learn more about planning your Green Wedding today. 407-905-5454 or you can email us at info@27miraclesbyrosie.com

Until next time, Happy Planning and do something for our mother earth today.  Enjoy a walk out in the park or your neighborhood, take a bike ride or simply admire all that God gave us….the beauty of the flowers, the birds and the air that we breathe!

A Beautiful Fusion Wedding Desiree and Nguyen Vu

Picture it, a beautiful fall day in scenic Winter park, crisp whites and a day full of beautiful traditions for a fusion wedding.  Some of you may ask what is a fusion wedding?  A fusion wedding is when you have two people from different cultures and they blend their wedding ideas together to honor their heritage and their families’ heritage.  27 Miracles was very happy to coordinate the wedding of Desiree and Nguyen Vu.  Nguyen Vu’s heritage is Vietnamese and they both came to planner Rosie Moore, with the hopes of blending culture into the wedding.

Copy of _DSC7869

The ceremony incorporated a reading from the Bible in Vietnamese, no matter what language it was read in, the translation of love comes shining through whenever the verses of love are read.  At the reception the bride wanted to surprise the groom by hand making herself banners in Vietnamese that read, I love you.  The interesting thing is that there is a way to say it to a female and a way to say it to a male and she captured both.  You will see the banners in the photo with the wedding cake.

Now the great part of the bride and groom is their love of the outdoors and sports.  Desiree is a runner so it is no small surprise that on the day of the wedding she ran 5 miles bright and early.  Nguyen Vu is a cyclist  and yes he did ride his bike that morning as well.  A huge waffle breakfast with fresh strawberries awaited Desiree on her wedding day.  Her favorite food!! Check out the decor on the wedding cake, you will have to look at that detail it is great.  And while you are looking, take a look at the wedding favors embroidered with the groom’s favorite sport. Our reception room was filled with jars of candles, it created a warm and inviting romantic atmosphere!! There were over a hundred pasta jars filled with candles to make that romantic yet rustic wedding look.

To make the night more interesting, 27 Miracles planner, Rosie Moore, coordinated a distraction with the groom as he sang a surprise song for the bride.  See it here on the video http://vimeo.com/31492588     The bride was totally surprised!!! Mission accomplished, thanks to the staff of John Michael Catering that helped 27 Miracles pull this off.

We wish Desiree and Nguyen Vu a lifetime of happiness….

We want to thank all the vendors that made this day special for Desiree and Nguyen Vu as well as 27 Miracles.
